Differences in Arts in different regions

Artists have a unique way of addressing their ideas and thoughts through their work. However, all of these aspects are attributed to one`s culture, religion, or even beliefs. That is why there are differences in arts depending on the artist, the period during which the art was made or even the movement. Taking a closer look at the Baroque art movement, there are specific differences that can be identified concerning the different regions, which embraced it. There are different qualities that are associated with the Baroque movement in all the regions, which include sensuous richness, grandeur, drama, emotional exuberance, and a distinction between the different artists (Kleiner, 2017). In Italy, the art was used as a way of extending and stimulating the public`s faith in the church. The art would be used to make an overtly emotional and sensory appeal to the faithful. Though in Northern Europe and Spain they used it for religious matters, it was not that extensive. In Spain, the Baroque art movement was more concerned with power and grandeur adopted by the centralized state. They attributed more to the political aspects at that time. In Northern Europe, the Baroque movement was also felt and was concerned more with the nature and the human intellectual horizons (Kleiner, 2017). Though the different regions felt the Baroque movement, the cultures and beliefs shaped the kind of arts experienced by those people. The subject matter of these arts are therefore different and can be attributed to specific beliefs and the time they were made. The form and composition are believed to define major differences between the arts in the different regions.
