I choose Development of Self-Esteem because I consider that is very import to keep high your trust in yourself. Self-esteem is important because self-esteem is the source of mental health. Self-esteem is the idea you have of yourself. It is how much you value yourself and how important you think you are. Self-esteem is important because self-esteem is the source of mental health. Self-esteem is how much you value yourself and how important you think you are. Positive self-esteem operates in the immune system of consciousness, giving resistance, strength, and resilience. When self-esteem is low, our ability to cope with the adversities of life goes down. We fall in the face of adversity and our sense of self-worth diminishes. We are influenced by the desire to avoid pain, instead of experiencing joy. Everything negative has more influence on us, instead of the positive. Low self-esteem contributes to mental problems. If you feel that you are worthy, you will behave according to this belief, and you will live a happy life. If you feel proud of yourself, you will have confidence in yourself, and you will be able to try new things.

The article is relevant for my research because it provides various outlooks on just how self-esteem can affect the overall health of a person. Baumeister states that self-esteem typically falls into two different categories. Those categories as describe them are enhanced initiative and pleasant feelings. Which both is a vital part of someone’s life to gain that self-esteem that needs about his or her selves. However, the conclusion of this research that was conducted was that self-esteem had no value when it came to health behavior. For instance, a person may have high self-esteem, that does not mean it, will prevent that person from exercising unhealthy behavior such as drinking or doing drugs. This study provided evidence that self-esteem correlated to health but not the outcome of the health.

Shure wrote this book to encourage parents that it begins at toddler age when children gain self-confidence and self-esteem. This book is very helpful for the cognitive development because it is implementing a new thought process that will help children learn how to make better decisions. The author is teaching a style of thinking that takes into consideration the different factors that go into planning and then deciding what the best, option would be.
