Topic: For this assignment I want you to imagine that your boss has contacted you for your help. She knows you are taking psychology, and wants you to help her as she prepares for an upcoming “Mental Health and Wellness” program at work. She has asked you to design a two page brochure( does not need to be brochure ) in which you discuss one of the anxiety disorders covered in chapter 12. Remember that your audience will be your coworkers, who have not necessarily taken psychology. Be sure to explain your answer in simple terms that they can understand. You should include answers to the following

: • Symptoms of this anxiety disorder and what features distinguish it from other anxiety disorders. • An explanation of what makes behavior abnormal.

• Two distinct therapies for this anxiety disorder described in detail. You should select one therapy from each of the two following groups: biological and psychotherapy. (Select one from each group.)

• Your discussion of the two distinct treatments should make it clear you understand the general approach/logic behind the treatment as well as how it is applied in the case of the anxiety disorder you have chosen.

• Ideas for how someone can help another person with this anxiety disorder or how they can get help for themselves. My goal with the brochure format is to get you writing for a general audience in everyday terms. Explain advanced terms that you use. You do not need to include pictures in the brochure format as they may prevent you from uploading the document. You may choose to structure it as a brochure or just text. Please address all aspects of this topic and explain your answer in detail and in your own words using your own examples. Be sure to properly cite any sources you use, and also note that I do not expect you to do additional research beyond the materials used for class. If an idea is not your own, even if it is not a direct quotation, it should receive within text citation (e.g., King, 2013) and end of text citation. Obviously if the words are verbatim from another source, you would also enclose the quotation in quotation marks. Remember, you may not consult anyone else for help in answering this question. Please address any questions to me directly. As a reminder, a guide to APA style is found just prior to Summary Writing #1. Lastly, please double check that the disorder you focus upon is indeed an ANXIETY disorder and not some other type of psychological disorder (e.g. mood disorders are NOT acceptable for this project).
